Key Responsibilities
As a Fitter, you’ll play a key role in fabricating and fitting aluminium components to engineering standards. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Use jigs and fixtures to fabricate bridge components
- Work from engineering drawings and work instructions
- Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections
- Operate hand tools and measuring equipment
- Follow health and safety procedures
- Complete SAP bookings and maintain accurate job records
- Undertake and maintain relevant welder qualification tests
Skills and Experience
- Time-served apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or fabrication
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, safety, and quality systems
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Excellent organisation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
