My client is an independent multi-disciplinary engineering, environmental and project management consultancy.  They provide essential support across a wide range of sectors at all stages of the built environment development that improves our communities, protects our environment, and creates value for our clients.  Our purpose is not just what we do but the difference we make.  

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber and masonry following British Standards/Euro Codes.
• Adhere to internal QMS procedures ensuring compliance with internal design checking protocols.
• Coordinate with professionals and contractors, manage time for timely project delivery.
• Work independently on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger schemes.
• Ensure commercial delivery of projects, meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Collaborate with other company consulting offices.
• Supervise trial hole investigations and undertake visual structural inspections.
• Mentor Junior Engineers.
• Liaise with Clients and design team members to meet client briefs, attending meetings as required.
• Engage in business development activities.
• Contribute to fee proposals where necessary.
• Assist in project management, ensuring commercial delivery, and meeting timescales and budgets.          

Role Requirements:

• Solid knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes.
• Ability to produce designs by hand calculations or using design software, underpinned by strong engineering principles.
• Must have refurbishment experience, including house extensions, using diverse materials.
• Site inspection and site survey experience.
• Experience working on structural projects.
• Proficient in technical design packages such as Tekla, CADS and Tedds.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Possess a full driving licence, have access to a car and willing to travel when required.

Qualifications
(Preferred)

• Completion of Degree in relevant Engineering subject.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in similar engineering consultancy.
• Willingness to become chartered over the next few years.
